DOCMaker revision notes (since release of v4.5)
Revision: v4.7.1 Monday, December 2, 1996
Version 4.7.1 Fixes:
Export -> Save Graphics under the File Menu now works
correctly from DOCMaker. This command was causing a
crash in v4.7 DOCMaker.
A memory leak associated with swapping in and out of
DOCMaker has been fixed.
Revision: v4.7 Sunday, September 15, 1996
Version 4.7 Fixes:
Memory management more robust.
Documents created with version 4.7 will NOT open
correctly into earlier versions of the main DOCMaker
application.
This is due to the large number of individual pictures
that can be put into a document now that 100 chapters
are supported. The manner in which pictures are
cataloged has changed. DOCMaker v4.7 will open ANY
previously saved DOCMaker document.
More secure saving routines preserve your original
document until the save process is completed.
Fixes file corruption during save.
You need at least twice the disk space available to
resave an existing Stand-Alone Document.
If you open an existing stand-alone document into
DOCMaker, make changes, and choose Save from the File
Menu, your original document is left untouched until
the save process has successfully completed. Then your
original document is removed - this is a very secure
way to save a file, but requires that you have enough
disk space available for two copies of your document
during a Save process.
Version 4.7 Changes and Features Added:
DOCMaker allows you to create 100 chapters
in a single stand-alone document.
More secure saving preserves your original
document until the save process is completed.
New Return button has been added to navigation
scrollbar in stand-alone documents.
100 Level Returns (increased from 20).
DOCMaker and the documents are compatible
68000 Macs running under System 7.0 or later.
Revision: v4.6.1 Saturday, March 16, 1996
Version 4.6.1 Fixes:
Fixed problems that disabled sending AppleEvents
from picture actions. Now Send AppleEvent
picture actions works correctly. This problem
was introduced in version 4.6.
DOCMaker now correctly imports RTF text files - this
has not worked correctly in previous versions.
Version 4.6.1 Changes and Features Added:
DOCMaker documents now have a right-handed chapter
navigation scrollbar. This may be changed to
a left handed scrollbar if the user desires.
DOCMaker documents may now be opened into DOCMaker
by dragging their icons to the DOCMaker icon. This
requires System 7. If this does not work on your
Mac after installing DOCMaker, you will need to
copy DOCMaker v4.6.1 to your main hard disk (the
one with your System Folder) and then rebuild your
desktop. To rebuild the desktop, you need to restart
your Macintosh while holding down the command and
option keys. Hold these keys down UNTIL you get
the rebuild desktop dialog.
Removed the Transfer menu item from the DOCMaker
application. This is no longer needed.
Revision: v4.6 Sunday, February 11, 1996
Version 4.6 Fixes:
Fixed problems caused by running out of memory
and saving. In earlier versions, if you received the
out-of-memory error while editing a document in
DOCMaker and then saved, sometime the saved
document could become corrupted.
Version 4.6 Features Added:
DOCMaker documents now may have a startup
splash dialog and sound!
Revision: v4.5.2 Thursday, December 28, 1995
Version 4.5.2 Fixes:
Pictures that have the "Send Apple Event" picture
action may not print regardless of the setting
of the "Print" checkbox for that picture in the
Picture Settings Dialog. This has been fixed in v4.5.2.
Revision: v4.5.1 Monday, December 11, 1995
Version 4.5.1 Fixes:
When the stand-alone document was saved with the
"Output Text" feature, the document may quit with
System Error ID 15. This has been fixed in v4.5.1.
If a plain text file was opened into DOCMaker and then
immediately saved as a stand-alone document. The stand-
alone document would sometimes issue a low-memory alert.
This has been fixed in v4.5.1.
